HOMEOPATHY

WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY?

window Homeopathy is a holistic medicine which was discovered and developed in the eighteen century by the German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann. Nowadays, Homeopathy is popular in many countries through out Europe and the world and is particularly strong in Britain, France, Italy, South America, Australia and India. In Britain, some GPs use homeopathy and there are homeopathic hospitals as well.

Homeopathy comes from the Latin words "Homeo" and "Pathy". That word expresses one of the important principles of homeopathy which is "Like cures like." In Japan, we have folk medicine that Japanese radish is good for sore throats, because ground Japanese radish has quite a hot taste and makes the throat sore. This is the same theory as homeopathy. The homeopath tries to find the "similar remedy" to the patient's expression.

WHAT DOES THE HOMEOPATH DO?

The homeopath's most important job is to understand a patient holistically. I need to understand your main symptom as well as your emotions, the image and sensation that accompanies the main symptom. For this reason, I ask you several types of questions. As a next step, I translate your story into homeopathy, which is another important job. This translated context leads me to your remedy, and this remedy enables you to switch your healing system on. In other words, the homeopath is a translator for helping to connect you and the effect of homeopathy. You are a person who describes your story. Please describe your story freely. And I will translate it into a remedy. Our collaborative work will become the key to the new door that opens you up to better health.

WHAT IS REMEDY?

Remedies are tiny white pills and made from natural substances: plant, animal and mineral. After a consultation, you will take the remedy. This helps your natural healing power to awaken and to give long lasting benefits.

You may not be familiar with a remedy. This means "correct, amendment, and treat" in English. A remedy will correct and treat your disharmony. These processes of making the remedy are called a "proving", and all remedies are tested on healthy people who are called "provers", not on animals. Most of a time, the prover doesn't know which substance she/he is taking. Over a couple of months, the prover records everything that happens to him/her. For instance, it may be a fever, physical pain, an emotional change, a dream, that makes him/her better or worse, what triggers a symptom, and what time it happens etc. And then, this data is analysed by a third person and finally the remedy starts being used by the homeopathic profession.

WHO CAN HOMEOPATHY HELP?

garden Homeopathy doesn't give a prognosis, or the name the disease. We think all of your condition is your expression, including main problem, favourite food, hobbies, and your relationship with your family and friends. The homeopath chooses your remedy, taking account of all of your expression. This is the "translation" work, I have previously mentioned. I don't give you a specific remedy for a specific symptom, as I see you as a whole person. That is to say, homeopathy can treat everything, for example, eczema, asthma, hormonal disturbances, period pain, menopause, depression, phobias, panic attack, arthritis, diabetes, hay fever, fatigue, headache and pain after a cancer operation and so on.

And homeopathy improves not only symptoms but also well-being and energy in a very gentle and safe way. This means that homeopathy is suitable for everybody, young and old, even for pregnant women and sensitive people. Homeopathy is especially good for children due to their naturally strong vitality.
